General information
Service offered: Providing advocacy support for people experiencing mental distress and their carers. Independent, professional, peer and carers' advocacy services which aim to empower people to make informed choices, have their rights upheld, express their views and gain access to community based mental health services through their GP, or GP referral to any member of the community mental health team or specialist service, including CPNs, Consultant Psychiatrist out-patient appointments or CPA reviews etc. Manages community mental health website. Information service offers leaflets, signposting and advice. *Please note advocacy services are now available to Leicester City and the County of Leicestershire/Rutland. Mental Health Service Users can now receive advocacy for a physical health issue, if their mental health condition forms a barrier to accessing physical health services.
Target group: Individuals with mental health needs, and their carers, and anyone requiring information about mental health.
