General information
Service offered: The Men Standing Up Service supports male victims and survivors of domestic abuse aged 16+. We provide a free confidential helpline service, emergency and long term Accommodation with intensive support and a peer support group. MSU can offer callers emotional support, help and information and will signpost clients to other specialist services. All MSU staff are trained professionals who have experience of working with men who have experienced domestic abuse. MSU have units of emergency accommodation and longer term accommodation for men in a crisis situation, needing immediate support, during this time staff will help service users into more appropriate, safe and longer term accommodation with support. The peer support group meets every 4 weeks and gives a platform for service users to share their experiences, views and opinions and provide support to their peers. The Men Standing Up Service provides support to our service users to enable them to be supported through legal and court processes. Men can refer themselves via the helpline or via external agencies, family or friends.
