Service offered: The Essex Law Clinic benefits the local community by offering free initial advice about legal problems while giving our students the chance to work alongside practicing lawyers to advise real clients. The Law Clinic can advise on the following issues: family law, housing law, employment issues, consumer issues, equality issues, benefits advice, contracts, and negligence. The Law Clinic cannot help with immigration, criminal law, will writing, tax and debt issues. The Essex Law Clinic is based at the University's Colchester campus. Appointments will be there when possible or by Zoom.
Target group: Anyone living, working or studying in Essex but especially vulnerable people or people who cannot afford a solicitor

Staffing: All advice and assistance is provided on a strictly confidential basis by University of Essex law students who are supervised by qualified lawyers and clinical teaching staff.
Public transport: By bus: The following bus services run through our campus connecting it to and from Colchester town centre, Colchester Station, and Wivenhoe: 61, 62, 74/74A, 75, 76 and 87. Most buses are operated by First but some are operated by Hedingham.
