Service offered: Free to anyone in Southampton city postcodes who gives their time, unpaid, to look after a family member, friend or neighbour with additional support needs. The service offers: Personal support via specialist carer support workers. A carer’s identity card giving access to discounts on services. Statutory carer's assessments to identify needs and determine eligibility to receive specific services and a discretionary personal budget. An emergency plan that can be registered with the local council in case of emergency situations. Monthly speakers and social opportunities. A website directory of relevant national and local services and resources. A newsletter listing relevant local and national events and services and learning and training opportunities. Information for Southampton employers wishing to become a carer friendly company. We also work with local charity No Limits who provide a support service for young carers.

Target group: Adults over 18 years.

Area served: The carer or the person they care for must be a resident of the City of Southampton as the service is funded by Southampton City Council.
