General information

Service offered: The Ark Gedling is a welcoming community meeting place and advice centre, offering support across a wide range of life issues. We provide free, confidential advice on topics such as welfare benefits, housing, eviction, employment, life skills, and community matters. Alongside our advice services, we host a warm and inclusive community space where people can enjoy free tea, coffee, and biscuits, as well as friendship and conversation. We also run a variety of community activity groups, including a friendship group, Job club, craft club, and art group. Visit our events page for more details. We are a project of the Ark Gedling, formerly known as the Phoenix Farm Open Door Project. Originally established in 2003 as a charitable trust, we have since grown and evolved. In 2024, we successfully transitioned to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) — a more suitable structure for our size, providing better governance and allowing access to a broader range of funding.

Target group: We support the general public, particularly residents of Gedling and the surrounding Nottingham area.
