General information
Service offered: Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey is an inclusive organisation dedicated to enabling and empowering people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind. We champion independence, where people thrive in their communities and achieve their aspirations. We offer expert support, services, and advice across Surrey to people of all ages, delivering our services in homes, communities, and from our main office hub. We hold the register of visual impairment on behalf of Surrey County Council, and deliver the statutory duty of the Local Authority through an Adult Combined Sensory Contract, and a Habilitation contract for Children and young people. We offer a range of additional services, including our Access Technology, Welfare Benefit Service, our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) service, a Low Vision Service, Volunteer Scheme, as well as recreation and peer support activities. We will soon be expanding our technology offer, with the additional of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) trailblazer coming very soon. We campaign for accessibility and inclusion, to ensure that people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted and deafblind can lead full and independent lives.
