Service offered: Based in Braintree, First Stop Centre is a grass roots project that offers real and immediate help to members of the community who are struggling with problems, and want to improve the quality of their lives. Our services encourage individuals to make positive choices; which is often a first step in re-engagement with other services and the wider community.Services include: Advocacy Service- within the context of Citizen Advocacy. Affordable Counselling- 1:1 appointments. Assessments for interventions carried out by our qualified Counselling Co-ordinator. Benefits Advice- via sign-posting. Community Fridge- Access to fresh food via our commitment as a Community Fridge. CV construction. Education Classes: Confidence/Employability courses, Digital Confidence- including: Learn my Way, Using a tablet and Job Seeking Skills, Basic Skills (learning English or Maths), Internet Safety (All over- seen and facilitated by our qualified Education Co-ordinator).
Target group: People in need, including homeless people, unemployed people, ex-offenders and single parents.
