General information
Service offered: ACMHS provides Talking Therapies predominantly to African and African Caribbean people as well as other minority groups including White Europeans registered with a Manchester GP experiencing mild to moderate mental health ie: depression, anxiety, relationship problems, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress, Couples therapy for depression with a perinatal focus. We also provide services for African and African Caribbean with severe and enduring mental health in Manchester and surrounding areas. Our Cultural Wellbeing Programme also provides support to Black African, Caribbean or South Asian Communities living in Manchester or Trafford offering counselling, medication management, education, health and fitness and other activities to support their wellbeing. Services also include: one to one CBT interventions, CBT counselling, Person centred counselling, Couples counselling, Information and advice, Music Project (Positive Vibrations) Groups (women, carers), Volunteering opportunities ie: Befriending, Hospital visiting. Training ie: race and mental health, cultural awareness and mental wellbeing and person centred counselling placements.
Target group: Predominantly African and African Caribbean people experiencing mental ill health, their carers and families as well as other minority groups including White Europeans and South Asian communities.
