Service offered: EASTBOURNE: As the local Voluntary Action, we provide a wide range of development and networking support to groups across Eastbourne.In communities we work with you on a range of areas, including setting up a new group with the right structure and policies, identifying and applying for funding and much more. You can post on this website, receive news alerts, join networks and attend network meetings. We can also help you with volunteers. We also deliver the Beachy Head Ambassadors programme, where our volunteer ambassadors guide visitors to the best activities, walks (and ice cream) as the seasons change. LEWES District: As the Voluntary Action for Lewes District, we provide news alerts and community updates directly to our member groups across Lewes District – from Seaford and the Havens on the coast to Lewes town and rural villages including Ditchling and Newick. Members and other local groups and organisations use our news alerts and website to share information and consultations. We deliver the Lewes District Cost of Living Poverty Action Group, facilitating meetings, delivering news updates and managing the COLPAG Community Register. We deliver the Homes for Ukraine programme in Lewes District, supporting members of the Ukrainian community, and Ukrainian community groups, in accessing support services and building relationships with their local communities. WEALDEN: As the local Voluntary Action, we provide a wide range of development and networking support to groups across Wealden – from Birling Gap, Polegate and Hailsham to Uckfield and Crowborough in the High Weald and on to Forest Row, Crowborough and Wadhurst in the North Weald. In communities we work with you on a range of areas, including setting up a new group with the right structure and policies, identifying and applying for funding and much more. You can post on this website, receive news alerts, join networks and attend network meetings. We can also help you with volunteers. We manage the Wealden Food Partnership which brings together over 100 organisations, businesses, and community groups to create a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient local food system. From addressing food poverty and reducing waste to promoting sustainable farming and food education, the Partnership collaborates on initiatives that make a real difference in our community. From July 2025 we will deliver the Wealden Climate Change Network. On behalf of Wealden District Council, we deliver the Cost of Living Grants Programme, making grants to community groups delivering services to address the Cost of Living Crisis.
