General information
Service offered: Nacro is a social justice charity. We design and deliver services that equip people with the skills, advice, attitude and support they need to move their lives on and to become part of their community. Our services cover education, housing, substance misuse treatment and the prevention of reoffending. Nacro’s Resettlement Advice Service seeks to remove the barriers that prevent people with criminal records (and those who have been subject to allegations) from moving forward with their lives in positive and constructive ways. Through our expertise in this field we also seek to promote best practice among employers and education providers in understanding and managing criminal record and allegation information. RAS offers information, advice and guidance and legal advocacy support to individuals with criminal records who are looking for help with accessing employment, housing and other areas of resettlement. We offer advice and specifically tailored training to practitioners working with people with criminal records; and also to employers, education providers, and other organisations.
Target group: Prisoners, ex-offenders, their families + friends, agencies working with them. At risk of offending.
Area served: England and Wales.
