General information

Service offered: Support and practical assistance for older people suffering from isolation and loneliness due to bereavement, disability and other health issues in Mill Hill and Burnt Oak. We offer a range of services throughout the year that include: 3 weekly lunch clubs, chiropody, befriending, advice and support, transport to surgeries and hospitals, shopping, social events, outings and gardening. Our weekly lunch clubs are a vital service in helping people out of isolation and to integrate back into the community. The cost is £5.00 for a 2 course hot meal and tea/coffee. The clubs are held on Tuesday - 12 noon-1.30pm - at The Wilberforce Centre, Mill Hill and on Thursdays - 12 noon-1.30pm - at Annunciation Church, Thirleby Rd Burnt Oak. A smaller club is held on Wednesday - 12 noon – 1.30 pm - at the Cottage Homes in Mill Hill. Our chiropody clinics are at 3 locations: Mill Hill, Burnt Oak and Mill Hill East. The cost is £25, considerably below the commercial rate. Full details of all our activities can be found on the website quoted (thegoodneighbourschememhbo.com), which is updated regularly.
