General information
Service offered: The service provides advice and casework to all residents of South Tyneside on welfare benefits and debt issues. Face to face appointments are available around the borough Monday to Friday and we also offer a telephone advice service, along with home visits for those who cannot get to us. The service manages the council’s Local Welfare Provision scheme which provides assistance for those in financial hardship and/or crisis. The service also operates the Social Navigator Project which focuses exclusively with customers who are more in need of extra help and support.
