General information

Service offered: Receive and assess claims for housing benefit. Information for the general public onhousing benefit, council tax reduction, free school meals, discretionary housing payments, community living support applications, the household support fund and other queries. Our Customer First office at Halifax is still open from 10-4pm Monday to Friday (closed on bank holidays and we have a late opening at 12.30pm on the last Thursday of each month). We also have Customer First services at Hebden Bridge Library (Wednesday 10am-3pm, lunch 1pm-1.30pm) and Brighouse Library (Fortnightly on Mondays (dates can change depending on bank holidays etc) from 10am-3pm, lunch 1pm-1.30pm).
