General information

Service offered: CHAP offers free, independent and confidential advice and information covering a range of issues relating to housing and homelessness, welfare rights (such as benefits checks and support with forms), and money advice for people facing debt or financial hardship. We also deliver the Ayrshire Housing Advice Project (AHAP) in partnership with Govan Law Centre, providing specialist legal support for homeowners at risk of repossession. In addition to delivering services from our base in Ardrossan, we also provide outreach services across North, East and South Ayrshire - allowing our advisers to arrange appointments with people in their own communities wherever possible. CHAP take a holistic approach to advice, recognising that issues are often connected and need joined-up support. Our Education team also deliver financial education workshops in secondary schools and colleges, helping young people build confidence with money and develop the lifelong skills needed for a financially resilient future.

Target group: All members of the community

Area served: North, East and South Ayrshire.
