General information

Service offered: We have an Assertive Outreach Team who go out onto the streets of Exeter, Teignbridge and east, north and mid Devon to help people off the streets and into accommodation. The service works assertively with: All rough sleepers / Those insecurely housed and at immediate risk of rough sleeping / Those leading street-based lifestyles which may involve begging and street-drinking. The outreach team pro-actively identifies rough sleepers through regular outreach sessions and responds swiftly to local reports of people sleeping rough or engaged in street-based activity. It takes a multi-agency and person-centred approach to supporting people off the streets and into appropriate accommodation and services, as quickly as possible. It seeks to secure a rapid, supported re-connection for rough sleepers who are not from the local area. It actively works with the whole community to improve the lives of rough sleepers, increase understanding and awareness of rough sleeping and reduce anti-social behaviour and to improve the environment.

Target group: People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Area served: Exeter and surrounding areas - East, North and Mid Devon, Teignbridge.
