Service offered: Free legal advice for anyone in the local community, regardless of whether they are eligible for Legal Aid. Cover a wide range of legal issues, including : Family, Employment, Landlord/Tenant, Wills and probate, Mental capacity law (that being dementia). Please note – primarily available during university term times only with skeleton service at other times of the year. Opening times: Term-time only. • Beginning of October – two weeks prior to Christmas holiday • End January – Mid/End March (dependent on Spring break periods). Advice is given in a written advice letter after a client interview with student volunteers under the supervision of a practicing lawyer. The LAC is unable to offer advice over the phone or by email.
