Active Care Group - Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre

Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a purpose-built facility set on a 3.5 acre plot surrounded by mature woodlands and well maintained grounds. The service has 27 en-suite bedrooms. 20 of our rooms have ceiling tracking hoists from the bedroom to the en-suite. The team delivers high-quality and intensive neurological rehabilitation; physical, cognitive, functional and vocational assessments; behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults. We support patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke and spinal cord injury. We can undertake SMART assessments for patients with Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness (PDoC) and create bespoke treatment plans. The interdisciplinary team is led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine. Patients benefit from access to our neuro-specialist team consisting of a Junior Doctor, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Technicians, specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants. Specialist Nurses are able to provide care to those with ongoing neurological nursing needs, diabetes, epilepsy, wound management, stoma care, enteral feeding and management of long term intravenous access points. We receive input from other professions allied to medicine, including dietetics, orthotics, podiatry, wheelchair services and music therapy.

The Retreat Clinics (York)

We provide care to people who refer themselves and those who are referred to us by GPs and other professionals. We can often help when others can’t, enabling people to get their lives back on track. We offer a range of individual, couples and group therapies for children, young people and adults. Our therapies can be delivered face to face, in relaxing therapy rooms. However if you are unable to come to The Retreat for your appointments, whatever the reason, we can offer you an appointment via video link We support people and help them recover, using a wide range of different therapies and assessments. We use best-practice and multidisciplinary approaches to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD. Online therapy service. We have a secure and confidential online ‘virtual consultation’ service. This service can be used to provide assessments, therapy and ongoing support for people who are not able to come to our site in York and Manchester. A range of therapies are available, to be tailored for each person. Some reasons for seeking therapy might include anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement and loss, and relationships issues. Depending on your needs, we will recommend the best way to get the support you need. We have a dedicated team to help people who are experiencing symptoms trauma or stress.
