Enfield SENDIASS (Centre 404)

The Enfield Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS Service) is open to any Enfield resident aged 0 – 25 with special educational needs, their parents and carers and professionals who support these families. This service is impartial, confidential and free to use. This includes a phone line open 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday, and evening appointments available for families unable to access the service during business hours. One-to-one and group support is available face to face, over the phone, email, and online on matters relating to special education needs and disabilities such as: Statutory duties, eligibility and referrals to local service provision. Rights of parents, children and young people. Support with applications, form filling and drafting letters. Complex documentation including needs assessment, reviews and Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Arranging and attending meetings in schools or with local authority professionals. Support with disagreement resolutions – including support with complaints, referral to mediation services and support with appeals. Advice relating to school and college placements and exclusions. Information on complaint procedures and mediation. Independent advocacy around decision making; discrimination; rights and entitlements. We will also be offering workshops and information sessions to parents and carers, drop-in sessions for parents and carers in community centres across the borough, and focus groups for young adults to ensure that they are consulted with and included in design of service provision.

Telephone helpline (116 123) operating 24 hours a day offering emotional support for anyone in crisis. Offers a listening and befriending service to people who are isolated, feel in despair or who are suicidal. We are currently unable to accept visitors at our branch. National Samaritans number (116 123) can also put callers through to their nearest unengaged branch. We offer face to face support in the branch by appointment. EAWA – Your Care Our Priority

EAWA is a registered charity that provides services in the Health and Social Care field. We were established in 1998. Our Mission is: To support, empower, and enrich the lives of Older Members in the Community. At the core of our organisation is our Day Care Centre for all elderly people. It has a mixed client group with a range of challenges like Dementia, strokes, complex physical and mental health conditions. We provide: Yoga and chair based exercise / Seated Qi Gong/Tai Chi / Dance/A hot lunch (Indian vegetarian) / Indian head massage and reflexology / Flower arranging / Toe nail cutting / Transport to and from the Centre / Workshops on healthy eating and well-being / Christmas/Diwali/Eid parties, and summer outings. We provide 2 activities a day / Socialising with those living locally / Respite for carers. These services provided from Wheatsheaf Hall, Main Avenue, Bush Hill Park, EN1 1DS EAWA also runs a number of projects open to all communities, including EAWA Social Hub offered at the Edmonton Green Library Community Room every Thursday and Friday and we will be working in Sheltered Homes on Tuesdays each week. This Social Hub is Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Day Care Centre: Open Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 3pm. Social Hub: Open Thursday and Fridays 11am to 12.30pm with coffee/socialising to 1.45pm.
