St Wilfrid's Centre

Day centre for vulnerable people, including those with mental health needs, those who are socially excluded and individuals who are homeless. Food, showers, laundry, clothing. Advice and information, including help with accessing mainstream services. Structured activities including workshop, gardening, literacy, art, drama, cooking, computing.

Youth Advice Centre (YAC)

The YMCA Downslink Group Youth Advice Centre (YAC) offers advice, support and guidance to young people age 13-25 in Brighton and Hove. Our aim is to provide young people in the local area with a safe and friendly environment where they can access helpful advice and support. We offer guidance on a wide range of areas, including emotional and wellbeing support, drugs & alcohol, benefits, budgeting, neurodivergence, education & work, plus information on other local services. Our Support & Advice Service is a drop-in, so just turn up. No appointment necessary but can be made on request if needed. Young people needing condoms can pop in any time with their C-Card and ask a member of YAC staff. We also provide free period products. YAC runs a Food Market on the premises, where 16–25-year-olds can access affordable weekly groceries. Food Market open hours: Tues, Weds, Thurs 3-5pm. No appointment necessary. We also offer a Family Mediation Service. Please email or call YAC for more information. YAC now provides young people with housing support via referral ONLY. Brighton & Hove Council will refer to YAC if further support is needed. 16–25-year-olds needing advice around housing and homelessness should present to the council office in Bartholomew House for support in the first instance. MyVision Oxfordshire

Resource centre and advice, information, befriending and practical help for visually impaired people. Quarterly newsletter, taped information, Braille and large print services. Recreational activities and holidays. 16 affiliated social clubs. Provide grants and financial assistance. Also provide access and sight awareness training and a hospital advisory service. IT demonstration centre.

NOAH Enterprise (New Opportunities and Horizons) - Welfare Centre

Welfare Services: Providing food, clothing, medical and dental care, outreach support and specific advice on accessing accommodation and income support, as well as linking with other specialist agencies. Training Provision: Running training courses in basic and life and employable crafts skills, as well as preparation for employment. Social Enterprise: Providing the opportunity for our service users and others who are long-term unemployed to gain work experience and training in employable skills.

Firvale Community Hub

Advice and information on a range of subjects including benefits, employment and housing. Also offer basic information on immigration and nationality. Women only sessions Wednesdays. Translation and interpreting service. Service mainly for ethnic minority communities but anyone in the area is welcome to come in for advice.

The Pagoda Chinese Community Centre

Community centre for Chinese people. Advice on benefits, legal issues, housing, education, employment and training, money and debt, consumer, health care. Social and cultural activities. Youth service.

Vale Community Impact

Vale Community Impact, or VCI, serves Wantage, Faringdon, Watchfield, Shrivenham and all surrounding villages in Vale of White Horse Council. It provides three services. Advice – topics include debt, benefits, employment, consumer rights and many more. Transport scheme - provides travel to hospitals, doctors and day centres for people unable to use public transport. Good Neighbour scheme – provides support to elderly and vulnerable people including befriending and shopping. VCI also hosts loneliness pop-up café’s in village halls across the district every 2-3 weeks.

Seaview Project

Drop-in centre for people in need, including homeless people. Advice on benefits, education, training, jobsearch. Housing advice, including pre-tenancy, resettlement, tenancy sustainment. Sessions with mental health outreach team, nurse, chiropodist. Regular visits from specialist substance misuse agencies. Showers, laundry, clothing, low cost lunch.
