Counselling services for anyone with relationship difficulties, whether married, single, living with or in a relationship with a partner of the same or opposite sex. Psychosexual counselling service and family counselling. Telephone Helpline service (0808 178 9363) on Tues/Thurs 10am - 1pm. Costs of appointments are £15 non-refundable registration fee and £65 per one hour appointment.

St Barnabas Counselling Centre

Individual counselling for people seeking to resolve personal or relationship difficulties. Clients are invited to donate towards the cost of the service. Some full fee paying counselling also available.

NSPCC - Plymouth

Letting the Future In (LTFI) - Aimed at 4-17 year olds who have been sexually abused. The CSPs will explore and allow the young person to express their thoughts, feelings and experienced through therapeutic intervention work. Referral only. Turn the Page (TTP) - Aimed at 5-17 year olds who show harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). This is a treatment program which allows them to manage and understand whilst changing their behaviours. Assessing the Risk Protecting the Child (ARPC) - To assess the risk of sexual harm to a child or children in a family.

Youth Enquiry Service - High Wycombe

Information, advice, counselling and support for young people aged 13 up to 35 . Cover a range of subjects, including advice about rights, accommodation, money problems, relationships, pregnancy. Sexual health service offered to young people aged 13 up to 25 providing advice and support, condoms.

Break

Break’s core business is the provision of children’s homes for Looked After Children in their home Local Authority. Break has six mainstream children’s homes in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and a Therapeutic Fostering Service offering single placements to young people who will have experienced significant trauma. Young people leaving Break’s care continue to be supported by our in-house Staying Connected Team. In addition to the mainstream homes, Break has two children’s home for young people with profound learning and physical disabilities and a short-break scheme for children with disabilities. Break also provides a range of assessment and support services to children at risk through a Residential Family Centre in Lowestoft and a range of community-based services, including assessment work, across East Anglia.

Relate Coventry & Warwickshire

Relationship counselling and psychosexual therapy for couples or individuals, including cohabiting and gay couples. £40 per hour, bursary scheme may be available for those on benefits or low income. Service for young people aged 5-18 affected by family change. Family counselling. Courses in conflict resolution, assertiveness, communication skills, managing change, stress.

Youth Advice Centre (YAC)

Advice around a range of areas including, mental health and wellbeing, sexual health and benefits and debt. Family mediation – mend and restore communication for 14-18 year olds and their parents /carers. From 31 March 2024, the Youth Advice Centre (YAC) will no longer operate a housing advice drop-in clinic. Young people requiring housing advice (including emergency assessments for homelessness) should approach Brighton and Hove City Council (BHCC) for assessment. If you are an existing client and need to update your YAC Housing Advisor, they will be based at the council until Friday 3 May 2024.
