Victim Support - West Midlands

If you’ve been affected by crime, call your local victim care team in the West Midlands on 0300 303 1977. Lines are open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-5pm on Saturday. Alternatively, you can contact us via live chat — our normal operating hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you need support outside of our open hours, call our Supportline for free on 08 08 16 89 111 or request support via our website. We give emotional and practical help to people who have been affected by crime in the West Midlands. We’re an independent charity and you can contact us for support regardless of whether you’ve contacted the police, and no matter how long ago the crime took place. We’ll help you for as long as it takes to overcome the impact of crime. We have a number of community bases across the whole of the West Midlands, where we provide support to enable individuals and families to cope and recover following the impact of a crime. Our services are provided through trained community volunteers in the main, but are supported by dedicated Independent Victim Advocates working with our more vulnerable service users, particularly children and young people. The support we provide is based on an individual’s needs assessment and can vary from emotional support to advocacy and practical help, e.g. with Criminal Injuries Compensation claims we can assist you to gather the information required to submit a claim. We offer a range of one-to-one interventions (over the phone, face to face, and through home visits/ Community Outreach venues) to support people who need our help, whether you were referred to us from the police, through another agency or contacted us independently. Last year we offered immediate support to over 52,000 people affected by crime in the West Midlands, and gave in-depth support to more than 7,000 people.
