Housing Matters (formerly CHAS Bristol)

We advise on issues such as homelessness and the threat of homelessness, housing benefit/universal credit, rent arrears, landlord and tenant problems, private renting, possession action by landlords and security of tenure, housing conditions and disrepair, overcrowding, housing and relationship breakdown, domestic violence, racial and other types of harassment, applications for social housing and supported accommodation. Having recently registered with OISC, we can now also advise on Level 1 immigration issues when there is a housing element to the enquiry.

Avon (University Settlement) Community Association

Avon University Settlement Community Association offers a range of counselling and other support services to people in need of help and advice. Opening Hours - Tuesday: 10am - 12noon by appointment only call 01179515751 (North Bristol Advice Centre). Advice sessions are held at Shirehampton Health Centre, Pembroke Road, Shirehampton .

Shire Advice Service

Advice and information for the local community on a range of issues, including consumer, debt, employment, housing and welfare benefits. Drop-in advice sessions at Shirehampton Health Centre, Pembroke Road on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10am - 12 noon and at St Andrew's Church, Avonmouth on Monday 9.30am - 11.30am.

Indigo Project

Advice, advocacy and counselling for young people aged 13+ who self harm. Services include therapy and support groups, counselling, mentoring and e-counselling, helpline for service users, text, phone and email support and outreach consultations. Training for professionals and carers.
