Lancashire Women is a leading charity for women in Lancashire with over 8500 women accessing their services over the past year and highly skilled volunteers supporting delivery of their services. Services include: mental health support, money advice, employment support & more. Their vision is where all women in Lancashire are valued and treated as equals. Lancashire Women empower women and girls to be able to transform their lives by bringing them together to: find their voice, share experiences and understanding, develop their knowledge and skills and challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about them…so that they can have choices in becoming the individuals they want to be. We have a network of centres based in Accrington (Head Office), Burnley, Blackburn & Blackpool, we also work in outreach venues. We offer a safe, female only space. Whatever your needs, women can drop in to their local centres any time between the weekday hours of 10am and 3pm. Advice Centre based in the Coalfields area serving communities of Sunderland. Qualified Advice Workers provide advice on benefit entitlement, consumer issues, employment rights, energy advice, money and debt. In our Community Hub we offer training, education, community development and campaigning around issues of local concern. We also have a community shop, volunteering activities and an Electronic Village Hall providing free access to the internet and computers for job search, CVs, benefit claims, training etc.
