Mental Health Resource

Mental Health Resource provides safe spaces and person-centred mental health support in our community to help people improve their wellbeing. Our 5 key projects, are: 'The Hub' - a vibrant well-being centre which offers a range of wellbeing activities to improve the lives of anyone living with poor mental health. The 'Serenity cafe' -an out-of-hours crisis café on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. 'Reachout' - confidential support groups, in Edenbridge, Paddock Wood and Southborough, which focus on wellbeing in a caring, non-judgemental environment. 'Reachout Youth' – informal and creative sessions, located in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, for young people aged 13-19, term time only. 'Assert' - a specialist advocacy service provided to those who are detained (“sectioned”) under the Mental Health Act 1983 and for people suffering mental health issues in the community. Kent Law Clinic

Clinic services - Kent Law Clinic exists to provide free legal advice to people who live or work in Kent and cannot afford to pay for legal advice and to educate students studying law at the University of Kent. Primarily, the Law Clinic offers advice in the form of a free Monday evening advice session with a legal advisor. Advice sessions are offered for the following areas of law: • family • housing (e.g. tenancy issues) • wills and probate • civil litigation (e.g. contract disputes, consumer law) If we are unable to offer an Advice Session, in some other limited cases we may be able to offer written or telephone advice. The Law Clinic is more active during academic term times. Our advice sessions run from October to June by appointment. There are no advice sessions between mid June and October but we will try to refer you to other local services. In some cases, we are able to offer extended advice and/or casework. Predominantly this is in the following areas of law: • family • housing • immigration/asylum • welfare benefits We are unable to advise in relation to the following areas of law: criminal, employment, medical negligence and personal injury.

Glaucoma UK

Glaucoma UK is the charity for people with glaucoma. We’re here for people with glaucoma and their loved ones. We campaign to raise awareness so glaucoma is detected early and can be treated, we support people to live well with glaucoma and we fund sight-saving research. We are a membership organisation, and those living with glaucoma are at the very heart of all we do. We support people to live well with glaucoma by providing a telephone helpline, glaucoma support groups, peer support services and widely acclaimed information booklets.
