Mental Health Resource

Mental Health Resource provides safe spaces and person-centred mental health support in our community to help people improve their wellbeing. Our 5 key projects, are: 'The Hub' - a vibrant well-being centre which offers a range of wellbeing activities to improve the lives of anyone living with poor mental health. The 'Serenity cafe' -an out-of-hours crisis café on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons, for those at risk of a mental health crisis. 'Reachout' - confidential support groups which focus on wellbeing in a caring, non-judgemental environment. There are 3 groups, each based in Tunbridge Wells, Edenbridge, Tonbridge / Paddock Wood. 'Reachout Youth' – informal and creative sessions, located in Edenbridge and Tunbridge Wells, for young people aged 13-19, term time only.'Assert' - a specialist advocacy service provided to those who are detained (“sectioned”) under the Mental Health Act 1983 and for people suffering mental health issues in the community. Legal advice provided by volunteer lawyers and law students under supervision, for people who have no access to legal advice elsewhere. Subjects include employment, benefits, money/debt, housing, immigration, consumer issues, crime, personal injury, family law and mediation, mental health, clinical negligence and complaints against the police. Representation mainly for tribunals and small claims.

Glaucoma UK

Telephone service for people with glaucoma and their relatives. (Glaucoma is the name given to a number of conditions affecting the eye, in which the optic nerve is damaged where it leaves the eye). Information, advice, reassurance and listening. Also supplies information booklets and leaflets free of charge.
