Steps2Wellbeing: Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch

Free, confidential NHS service for adults (18+) registered with a Dorset or Southampton GP, offering a range of treatments for people experiencing common mental health difficulties such as mild to moderate depression, stress, low mood and anxiety disorders. Provide support either over the phone, face-to-face, in groups or via the internet.

We are a service which gives free, confidential and impartial information advice and support on all aspects of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including health and social care. We have a telephone helpline with 24 hour voicemail; email advice line; face to face support by appointment; written information and advice leaflets; signposting to other services; training and workshops; information sessions for parents and young people. We can Guide you through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and planning process, Help you to contribute your views to the assessment process or at annual reviews; Help you with paper work; Help you to prepare for meetings and/or support you at meetings. We do not have a physical office – the Branksome address is postal only.

Space Youth Project

Provides a range of services for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, nonbinary and questioning young people in and around Dorset. Weekly/monthly groups. 1-2-1 support. Awareness raising and training. Family support.

Body Positive Dorset

Support for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Counselling referral, benefits advice, peer support, advocacy, telephone helpline, information, referrals and listening. Training and education.

Cruse Bereavement Support - South Hampshire, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole

Due to the current pandemic and ongoing social distancing, all Cruse bereavement services will be provided by telephone, email or internet, until further notice.

Rethink Mental Illness - Bournemouth & Poole Advocacy Services

Advocacy service for adults with mental health problems living in Poole and Bournemouth subject to CPA or are under a Psychiatrist. Service offered in hospitals and in community settings. Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) also provided.

Bournemouth Domestic Violence Helpline

24 hour helpline for women experiencing physical, emotional or sexual violence in the home. Advice, information and support. Can refer callers to local refuges and emergency and temporary accommodation.

Dorset Reclaim

Community Action Network

Community Action Network (CAN) is a charity that provides professional and practical support to organisations working within the voluntary and community sector in Dorset. Our mission is to empower the voluntary sector, enable volunteering and involve communities, and we believe that together, we CAN make a difference.
