Northern Refugee Centre

Advice, support and casework for refugees and asylum seekers on a range of issues, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, employment, asylum. Community development and training for refugee groups. Library on refugee issues. Volunteering programme.

Scottish Drugs Forum - Glasgow

Head office of national policy and information agency. Co-ordinates and facilitates the development of drug services. Provides advice and information on drugs and their use, supports the work of alcohol and drug partnerships and drug forums. Produces information, including a directory of specialist drug services in Scotland also available on www.scottishdrugservices.com .

Adfam National

National organisation working with families affected by drugs and alcohol. Provide a range of publications and resources for families about substance use and about criminal justice and operate an online message board and searchable database of local support groups. Run direct support services at London prisons for families of prisoners with drug problems.

Alcohol Change UK

Works with statutory and voluntary agencies to develop and improve alcohol treatment services, increase awareness of alcohol misuse and bring about a reduction in alcohol related problems. Runs information service and produces magazine, leaflets, factsheets and other publications. Email public enquiry service on alcohol issues. Advice on setting up support networks. Offering Training & Consultancy courses to those working with people affected by alcohol misuse e.g. doctors, teachers, police. Alcohol Change UK tackles alcohol related harm by funding high-quality, impartial research.

Alzheimer's Society

Alzheimer's Society is the UK 's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. We provide information and support to people with any form of dementia and their carers through our publications, National Dementia Helpline, website, and around 3,000 local services. We campaign for better quality of life for people with dementia and greater understanding of dementia. We also fund an innovative programme of medical and social research into the cause, cure and prevention of dementia and the care people receive.

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Produce a directory of counselling resources in the UK. Also available on the website and via client information helpdesk - 01455 833316. Will send out a list of counsellors/therapists in a particular area. Accreditation for counsellors, supervisors, trainers and training courses. Aim to raise standards of training and practice. Run specialist networks for practicing counsellors.

British Dyslexia Association

Information, advice and support for people concerned with dyslexia - children, adults, families and professionals in education, health and employment. Advice on learning difficulties, appropriate education and exams. Network of local associations. Training for specialist teachers and training support for organisations wanting to assist dyslexic staff.

Camden Federation of Private Tenants (CFPT)

Organisation for private tenants and housing association residents in Camden. Basic advice and referrals to appropriate agencies. Inform and educate tenants on their rights - produce a newsletter and other written material and organise tenants meetings. Help to set up and support tenants' associations. Campaign on issues that affect both private tenants and housing association residents.
