24 hour national telephone helpline (116 123) offers emotional support for anyone in crisis. Offers a listening and befriending service to people who are isolated, feel in despair or who are suicidal. Callers are put through to their nearest unengaged branch. Ballymote Sure Start Project

Our Children's centres play an essential role in giving children and families the early support they need. We are open to your whole community on a regular basis. We work in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, midwives and local schools. To help under-fives get ready for school our services include: child and family health services; parenting programmes and antenatal support; early year’s education services, such as ‘stay and play’ sessions; speech and language support and family learning. In addition we offer support for parents with adult learning and employment support. This may include language, literacy and numeracy support, family learning, access to apprenticeships and volunteering opportunities as steps toward employment and links to Jobcentre Plus. This is supported by good quality, inclusive childcare.

Assessment of priority need under the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1988. Can provide temporary accommodation for those assessed as in priority need - those with children or pregnant, vulnerable because of age (60+), disability or at risk from violence. General housing advice and information for anyone in housing need.

Range of services for carers. Information on benefits and available services. Physical activity and self-help groups. Training for carers. Young carers support project for 8-18 year olds. Listening ear service. Day trips. Weekend respite breaks. Internet cafe. IT services.

Jobcentre - Ballynahinch

Jobcentre providing up to date details of local vacancies and training opportunities. A Department for Employment and Learning Jobcentre.

Mindwise - Downpatrick

Resource and drop-in service for people with severe mental illness. Advice and support. Access to resources such as computers, music and activity programmes. Advocacy scheme in Downpatrick and Lisburn. Carers support scheme organises self-help groups, provides advice and support and home visits for carers of people with mental illness.

CAMSH- mental health service for children and adolecents

Mental health service for children and young people aged up to 18. Individual therapeutic work, group work, health promotion and advocacy. Run by Newry and Mourne Health and Social Services Trust. Duty social worker available outside of opening hours Monday - Friday 5pm-9am.

Jobs and Benefits office providing help with finding work, advice on careers and training, Steps to Work opportunities and a benefits service for people of working age. Access to Jobpoint terminals. A Department for Employment and Learning service.

Runs campaigns around health inequalities and the social determinants of health. Produces regular ezines. Offers funding through BCPP Programme. Builds capacity through its Elevate Programme. Works on health literacy through the Self Care Programme.
