Children 1st - Midlothian Family Wellbeing Hub

The support is relational, trauma-informed and child-centred. The staff and volunteers will work with you and your family to better understand the challenges you face and what role Children 1st can play to overcome these. The service has peer support and project workers in the team, who can offer one-to-one and whole family support to strengthen relationships. There is also an option for money advice and support, and to attend to financial hardships. The service also offers opportunities for group-based support for parents focussing on positive wellbeing, along with family-based activity sessions for fun.

Grapevine - Lothian Disability Information Service

Telephone helpline providing information and advice on a wide range of disability issues for disabled people and their supporters in Edinburgh. Subjects covered include travel, transport, aids and equipment, housing, access, welfare benefits, sources of funding, leisure, holidays, employment, health, education and training, personal care. Appointments can be arranged to help fill in Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance forms for those living in Edinburgh at our offices in Norton Park, 57 Albion Road, Edinburgh, EH7 5QY.

Telephone helpline operating 24 hours a day offering emotional support for anyone in crisis. Offers a listening and befriending service to people who are in despair or who are suicidal. The office is not yet open for face-to-face drop-in appointments. We will post on our website if/when this service resumes. The national Freecall Samaritans number (116 123) can put callers through without delay to their nearest unengaged branch.
