We are an independent, dedicated anti-poverty and homelessness prevention charity, based in Kettering. Our advice is free and impartial. Our advice services hold the Advice Quality Standard in Housing, Debt and Welfare Benefits. Housing advice: Eviction paperwork / Rights and responsibilities of tenants / Rights and responsibilities of landlords / Liaise with council/housing associations / Homelessness / Access to social or private housing / Repairs / Legal obligations of tenants / Legal obligations of landlords. Welfare Benefits advice: Maximising income / PIP claims/Appeals / Employment support. Food Bank partner: Supply food parcels. Supported Accommodation Provision: For single, homeless adults - building life skills; preparing for independent living; increasing confidence through a planned programme of re-settlement. Also offer gardening, decorating, mobility scooters and wheelchair hire, radar keys, IT training. Churches Housing Action Team (Mid Devon) Ltd

Advice, information and support for those who are homeless or in housing need. We operate a Deposit Guarantee (Bond) Scheme to enable people to access private rented accommodation and also offer tenancy support. We run the Tiverton area foodbank. Anyone who needs our help should ring our office number between 10am and 12 noon on a week day; they will be helped by staff to access food, cleaning materials and toiletries. CHAT offers a comprehensive Debt and Money Advice service, providing free, unconditional, fully confidential advice and practical support. We are pleased to be the local Community Money Advice Centre.
