St Christopher’s Candle Children and Young People’s Bereavement Service

The Carers’ Information Service provides information, advice, training, and activities for carers who live, work or study in Croydon, or care for someone living in the borough. All services are free of charge, but some are only available to Croydon residents.

Advocacy, education and support for African refugees and asylum seekers. Family support. Education and mentoring for young people, including CV preparation, help with job applications, interview skills, jobsearch. IT courses, literacy and numeracy classes.

Waterloo Community Counselling

The Affordable & Accessible Counselling service offers low and no cost counselling services to ensure that everyone can access the support they need. Fees are reduced to make therapy affordable and accessible for individuals from all backgrounds. The Multilingual Counselling for Refugees & Asylum-Seekers service provides free mother-tongue counselling to migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Please note that they are currently only able to offer this service to refugees and asylum-seekers who are living in Lambeth. See their website for a list of the languages that they can offer support in currently. WCC also runs various social activity groups for its isolated service users, including regular meetups for Refugees and Asylum-Seekers. These activities range from cultural excursions to hands-on workshops, designed to bring refugees and asylum-seekers together.

Croydon Talking Therapies

Croydon NHS Talking Therapies Service (formerly Improving Access to Psychological Therapies service (IAPT)) is free and confidential and available to anyone 17 years and older registered with a Croydon GP or living in the borough of Croydon. We offer talking therapies for people experiencing mild to moderate depression, general anxiety and worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, specific phobias, traumatic memories and obsessive compulsive disorder. We also offer help and support for people experiencing stress due to living with a long term health condition as well as talking therapies for relationship difficulties.
