Information, advice and support for people who have Down's syndrome throughout their lives, for families, carers and professionals. The DSA provides advice on all issues, with a daily helpline phone and email service, training (including online training), assessments, consultations, employment program (Workfit) and sports/activities program (DSActive). Specialist advice include benefits, medical and healthcare, development, complex needs and dual diagnoses, education, adult social care and support, and speech, language and communication. DSA campaign and policy work includes include Tell it Right (maternity services), Health Alert, Education, and Support for Adults (It’s My Life). Group programes are offered from the Ealing office around topics such as recovery, abstinence, and sexual identity. Individuals can self-fund or be funded through their local authority services. A paid counselling service is offered in Ealing, and is open to individuals from all London boroughs. Project Ascent – Women’s service: Free counselling and groups support around Domestic & Violence for residents of Hounslow, Wandsworth, Merton, Richmond, Kingston, Brent & Harrow. Awaaz – Women’s service: Free counselling around Domestic Violence for residents of HILLINGDON, Harrow, Ealing, Brent & Hounslow. Counselling is offered in a variety of community languages including Albanian, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and English. Floating Support Services - Ealing: Free service for Ealing residents, providing assistance with housing issues and other related issues such as debt management, bill payment etc. Brent Youth Offenders Service: Referrals through Brent Probation Services. Tamil Mental Health Project: counselling and support for members of the Tamil community in HILLINGDON experiencing mental health issues linked to trauma and experiences of the Sri Lankan conflict. The Jasmine Project: women’s project offering counselling and group support for residents of Ealing. Specialisms in working with women who have multiple issues such as trauma, mental health, domestic violence and problematic drug and alcohol use.
