Family Mediation Cymru

Mediators help couples who are separating or divorcing or who are in conflict following separation or divorce to discuss and negotiate arrangements for the future concerning children, property and finance. Hold an LSC Quality Mark and can offer free mediation under the legal aid scheme to people on a low income, otherwise charged on a sliding scale according to income

Gypsies and Travellers Wales

Liaison and advice service for the Gypsy and Traveller community, whether on official sites, in houses or on the roadside, and for agencies working with them. Issues dealt with include housing, homelessness, site development, benefits, education, health, legal issues, training and relevant services.

Cardiff Concern

Counselling for adolescents and adults experiencing emotional problems including, depression, anxiety and low self-esteem, relationship problems, bereavement, eating disorders or domestic abuse.

YMCA Cardiff Group

YMCA Cardiff works across South East Wales. Our aim is to make a positive difference in the communities we work in. We work in two distinct areas, youth & community and housing & homelessness. Cardiff YMCA supports local young people and their communities across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan through our various provision. These include; Cardiff and the Vale Young Carers (respite, skills and mentoring, family support for 7-15 year olds), Young Adult Carers (1-2-1 and group support, trips for 16-18 year olds living in Cardiff), Sexual Health and Relationship Service (specialist and confidential 1-2-1 and group support for 11-25 year olds in Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan), C-Card (a co-ordinated free condom distribution scheme for 13-25 year olds across Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan), YGirls (a mentoring programme for young women aged 9-14 years old living in Cardiff or the Vale). We also run YMCA Plas (formerly Plasnewydd Community Centre) where we provide childcare, community rooms and health and wellbeing opportunities 7 days a week. Based out of YMCA Plas we run an open access youth club provision on a Thursday and Friday evenings, open for 11-18 year olds. Linked to the youth club provision is our youth forum and outreach work. Additionally, Cardiff YMCA Housing Association is a charitable Housing Association and a Registered Social Landlord. We are registered with the Welsh Government and we directly manage two hostels in the Roath area of Cardiff, providing accommodation and support to people who are homeless. We provide supported accommodation to 120 people in Cardiff with the belief that everyone should have a safe place to stay. Our residents receive the support they need in order to achieve and sustain the transition into independent living. We have an onsite Employment, Education and Training team who work with our residents to achieve and meet their goals at all levels to include the opportunity to volunteer within the hostel in various departments to include the kitchen, domestics, and maintenance. We also have our own Private Rented Scheme that works with landlords in the community to house our residents and provide support through the lifetime of the tenancy when needed.

Platfform

Services for people with mental health problems. Work with people to ensure their mental health crisis doesn't result in a housing crisis, & vice versa. Work with people leaving hospital to ensure suitable accommodation is in place. Support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to find accommodation that will support their mental wellbeing. Supported housing, floating/tenancy support.

Newlands Alcohol and Drug Service

Information, advice and counselling for anyone concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. Range of treatments and therapies including home and inpatient detox, substitute prescribing, needle exchange, social work team and independent living advisor.

Cancer Information and Support Services

Services for cancer patients, their carers, families and friends and for health professionals. Emotional support and One to one Counselling. Helpline every day providing information and support on all forms of cancer, screening, treatment and prevention. Library, internet facilities and a charity shop.

Home Access

Advice for people who are homeless, threatened with homelessness or people with housing problems. Helps to find accommodation in the private sector. Small bonds (up to £400) for deposits - priority given to families. Advice on tenants rights and ongoing support to people who move into new accommodation.

Shelter Cymru - Cardiff Office

Advice and information for homeless people and anyone with housing problems. Subjects covered include rent or mortgage arrears and repossessions, rent increases, disrepair, illegal eviction and harassment, benefits for housing costs. Services and housing advice surgeries in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfill, Monmouth, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan.
