Mental Health Matters Helpline - Kent and Medway

Helpline and webchat for people with mental health problems, their carers, families and friends. The Team can offer emotional guidance and information and help people who may be feeling low, anxious or stressed or in extreme emotional distress and feel that there is nowhere else to turn. Support is also provided to people caring for another person and finding it difficult to cope. The service is confidential unless it is considered there is a risk to yourself or others.

Medway SENDIASS

The service provides parents/carers, children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities with free impartial information, advice and support which includes: support in relation to education, health and social care; support to express your views, wishes and feelings; support at meetings with schools and the Local Authority; help to complete SEND related paperwork; signposting to other support services. Support is offered via face to face meetings in the home, a community venue or our office, email, or phone contact. Access to the service is by self referral.

We offer FREE support for the Problem Gambler ,family members and anyone affected by Problem Gambling in the East of England as well as Sussex and Kent and Medway. The aim of our treatment is to provide an opportunity for the gambler to work towards increasing their wellbeing by becoming free of Problem Gambling. Holding On Letting Go

We offer a selection of services for children & families across Kent, Medway and parts of Southeast London who are either facing the death of a loved one or have had someone significant in their life die. We offer post bereavement support programmes for children & young people aged 6 years to 17 years. This is in the form of a non-residential therapeutic weekend programme which provides an opportunity for children to be able to talk about their experiences, thoughts, feelings, emotions and undertake meaningful memory making, using art, craft, music and talking therapies. The children work alongside fully trained volunteers. A two-day parent support programme runs alongside the children and young people’s weekend groups. We hold specialized support programmes for children & young people following a traumatic death. A one-day special focus workshop for children and parents affected by stillbirth and neonatal death for is held twice a year. We offer 6 to 8 sessions of pre-bereavement support via individualized sessions, which can be whole family work or for children only, taking place at home, at school, at the GP practice, hospice, hospital, wherever feels most comfortable. Telephone support and advice are available as well as online advice via the website. Referrals can be made by professionals such as early help, school and GP practices or families can self-refer. HOLG is able to offer bespoke training for schools, social services and other organisations, on childhood bereavement and impact of death on the family.
